Well today I held the G21SF which by the way the G20SF will share the same lower. I then held a G20 afterward and I can tell you it is a differance of night and day on the grip. I thought I was holding a G22 or the G35.
The G20SF will not be in my dealer until mid March at which time I will take possession of my new Glock.
Here is a sample from page 58 of the new 2009 Glock Annual where the writer Charles Karwan has done a story on 10mm Glocks on duty in the Arctic while coving a story on
Denmarks Elite Sirius Patrol, gears up with Glocks.
Proven Handgun paraphrazed"the 10mm Auto Glock 20, This choice of the pistol was determined
by concerns about encounters with aggressive polar bears. As a result, Sirius Patrol members have found that the Glock 20 works reliably even under the extreme arctic conditions they have to deal with.
The
Glock 20 also has a significant following among Alaskan law enforcement personnel because they too often have to deal with large animals such as moose and bears that have been injured in encounters with motor vehicles."
Well it seems that the Denmark Sirius Patrol has chosen well, and for good reason. Not everyones selection in the Glock 20/29 is going to please everyone. I have a buddy that firmly feels his Glock 22 is enough while in the great outdoors because some guy put a black bear down with one with 15 rounds in his house up in Alaska. (documented story) But that is his choice, and his alone to carry a Glock 22 for all his needs.
Now I'm not going to pick on someone here, because they feel that the 10mm is not enough for what they think or feel is write for the job. Yes, if someone wants to carry a .45 ACP in any handgun they are free to do so, as my needs here in the northwest are much differant than the guy who lives in a totally urban setting.
What I like about the NEW Glock 20SF/29SF 10mm is that it covers all my needs from urban conceal carry to the great outdoors of NW Montana and in all weather conditions, and sure beats carrying an all steal .44 Magnum that weighs a heck of alot more. For ammo selection click on
