NEF 10 guage
« on: October 13, 2008, 10:01:00 AM »
Hi all, I am hoping someone can give me some information. I am looking at buying a used NEF 10 guage shotgun and I would like to fit a rifle barrel on it. Most NEF shotguns have a SB1 receiver but the 10 guage has a SB2 receiver. Does anyone know if the SB2 receiver on a shotgun is the same as a SB2 receiver on a rifle? Thanks.

It's not, the outside width of the SB2 shotgun frame is the same, but the side walls of the frame are much thinner to accomodate the larger 1.2" chamber swell of the 10ga/12ga slug barrels, rifle and smaller shotgun barrels are 1.1", so rifle barrels and 12ga and smaller shotgun barrels won't fit the SB2 shotgun frame.

We need a picture of the 10 gauge frame side by side with a regular SB2 frame to show the difference.
Would be a good thing to add the the FAQ's.
