Is it possible and or safe to braze or soilder a steel scope mount to a Topper 12 GA ?

It would be OK to silver solder a scope mount on but the mount would have to steel, not aluminum which is what the H&R mounts are made of. I think brazing would be to hot and might compromise the strength and intregrity of the chamber/barrel....<><....
