410 reloading data
« on: October 19, 2008, 03:01:24 PM »
I've got about a thousand WW 410 hulls. The only problem is they are paper. They look like once fired and in great shape. Does anyone know where to find reloading info.  Thank you.

The Lyman Shotshell Reloading Manual is THE book for shotshell loading data. But for paper hulls you'll need an older version as the current manuals don't have data for paper hulls. Are they 2.5" or 3"? I suspect that data for them is gonna use build up wads of fiber not plastic shot cups as well. That's really gonna be the kicker.

I'm not sure how far back I can go in older manuals but might be able to scrouge up some data from an older one for you. As I said it's unlikely to be shot cup data tho. Tell us if they are 2.5" or 3" and maybe we can find something for you tho.

Being paper they will have a paper base wad in them. Make sure it's still sound as if it's ever been wet the hulls are useless.

They are 2.5 Super X hulls. They are not brittle and no tarnish on the brass, no tears inside on the ones I examined. Along with them is 4 unopened boxes of assorted fiber wads. Also several bags of WW,Rem,and fed plastic wads, 2400 and 296 powder, Fio primers and some Herters for the older Rem.
I have the 2nd edition lyman so I need an earlier version.

I would try calling Hodgdon's tech support line. I have asked them for help before and they are very knowledgeable and helpful.
