ejector trouble
«

well i have decided to get my dads old sb2 22-250 shooting again. the gun isin fine condition and i no it is a proven shooter from the past. the trouble is that a few years back the old girl stopped ejecting the spent cases. dad tore into her and found a that the smaller spring was broken. looking at your threads that have disscused similar situations i believe i must have the 1st generation ejector. we purcahsed the new spring and reassembled the under lug. the problem is that as the barrel is opened i can see the ejector claw drop below the rim of the case and pass by without any contact. the springs are in fine shape everything seems tight. im slightly confused because a diagram that i found on this sight seemed backwards from my gun. we hae looked at the diagram numerus times and are bewildered because the ejector latch is backwards on ours (our maybe the diagrams). please help asap the old girl aint been shot for so long and i know the misses the shooting bench. thanks. o and i am a newbie but i can already tell this is a very informative site that seems to have some friendly regulars

That diagram is backwards, see the actual pic of the parts in the FAQs that shows them in their general orientation. You can order the lift button from Brownell's or make one from a nail.

No, but the dimensions are .170" tall, the shank is .121", the top is .206" wide and the thickness of the top is .026", it just looks like a stubby little nail.

It's part #10 on the Brownell's H&R parts list below, both of the small pins are the same part#. They should be available at your local hardware store like Ace or True Value, you may have to trim the length tho, just ask for roll pins.
