I found out today a friend has died.
« on: October 28, 2008, 05:02:22 PM »
I just found out today that a friend of mine ( he is my next door neighbor ) died yesterday in the hospital. I have known him for 5 years now and he has helped me with anything I needed help with. When it came time to close my pool and he saw me out there. He would come over and help me take the ( I have a bad back ) heavy filter and heater into the basement. We spent many times cooking out and drinking beer and rum and Coke. He has always been there for me. He knew I was hard up for money and changed the brakes on my truck and an alternator on my van for almost no money. He was a good guy. The factory he worked at a little over a year ago layed him off. I have used him on a couple jobs because he was a hard worker. Things went down hill for him last year ( in the summer ) when I called him in to demo an Olive Garden. He was up on the scaffold ripping out one of the bulk heads and took a stroke. He fell 5 feet to the ground on his back. He had brain surgery and did not even know who I was a month after it happened. I had to tell him I am your neighbor and your friend. I thought his recovery was coming along fine. In the coming months he was able  to remember things and people. He did have to use a cane though and had a new stutter that he never had before. I guess he had another heart attack last week and it did him in. he died yesterday at 4:30 PM. He was only 50 years of age. If this were a piece of paper it would have my tears on it. I will remember him forever for his kindness. Dale

50 years young.  Wow.  That's a tough one.  Any kids?

Yes he has 2 kids from another wife. The woman he has been with now for the last 18 years is very ill and I don't think she will be able to live on her own. Dale

I have to say it hurts. When my daughter found out she cried pretty good. The funeral I think will be tomorrow. Dale

Dale, Sorry to hear the sad news. We feel connected and care for coworkers, friends, and neighbors as our own. I know how you feel. I have a handful of friends that are more family to me than some of my own blood. -g

... only the good die young. Sorry to hear about your loss Dale. I lost my favorite aunt last year two months before my wedding, she was also 50. Accidents are accidents, you dont plan for them, they just happen. Seems like God takes the good ones in the hope that the rest of us ripen. ( like apples on a tree).

Words or thoughts won't really help with the pain of loss.  If they could I would type a million words and issue a billion thoughts.  That being said, I will leave you with one.  He suffers no more.
I will keep your family and his in my prayers Dale.

My deepest condolences Dale... Good friends are sometimes closer than brothers...  :'(
Your and your family are in my prayers.

Sorry to hear that Dale. Seems like good friends like that are getting harder to find these days.  My prayers go out to his family.
