Best season for meat EVER
« on: October 27, 2008, 11:32:35 PM »
Got on stand last Thursday and limited out.  Same for Friday.  Got another on Saturday.  Decided to visit my daughter Sunday thru Tuesday to give the deer a rest.  Going back on stand this afternoon.  Limit is 10 deer in possession.  I may get that many before Friday.  All will be eaten.  Not scheduled to head home until next Sunday.  Wow are the deer plentiful and MOVING in the western piedmont of SC.  Thinning the does mostly... ;D

Wow!  Congratulations on the good hunting!  Our season here in KY doesn't open until the 8th.  Hopefully, I can fill my freezer as well.  I am definitely after meat and not racks!  ;)

Our freezers are full to the top. Hamburger meat is frozen in bulk, not ground yet because if I grind it and package it there won't be room to get it in the freezers. Nice problem to have.

Your very lucky as we can only have one tag for every deer we are harvesting with a max of 8 tags for deer.

In Wyo it's only 3 deer tags, but you can get 3 for antelope also. My wife shot a few critters this year too. I quit hunting elk, you spend so much time at it that the deer and antelope hunting suffers, plus them carcasses are getting awful heavy these days.
