Does anyone have any idea what the value of a Thompson Center  Scout Pistol in 54 caliber would be? Bought this new many years ago and never shoot it.

I have one of them too.  It is kind of an aquired taste I guess.  I would recommend checking on the auction sites and see if any of them have sold Scouts reciently.  Also go to a couple of gun shows.  They show up there once in a while as well.

Good luck.

JW / OK,
Afew months ago I purchased a .50 cal Scout pistol from ED'S TCs for $250 w/ a sling shoulder type of holster. Also saw one on Gunbroker (i think) in .54 for $350. Hope this helps a little.
good luck!

i had a scout rifle ,pretty to look at but the nipple/breechplug setup
not the best.if i remember right the flame from the cap has to make a
jump to the powder and this makes your powder prone to to misfires
do the ease moisture can seep into the powder.

the other item is easily remedied , the bottom of the barrel is shaped
so that your brush will not actually clean the same actually leaving a buildup
to block part of the flash from your cap. the remedy is to take a hanger wire flatten out the end and use it to clean out the area a normal brush cannot reach.

lastly , use blackpowder for surer ignition. dan
