S&W Model 60

I bought new, a 357 Model 60 2 1/8 barrel, three years ago and now am interested in selling.  This gun has never been fired.  What would be a fair price?

 just can t figure why a fella would sell a model 60 smith ..
 they coulda stopped making anything different when they came up with that gun..best ccw i found..good luck

Lately pretty much all the various S&W J-frame snubbies have been blown out the door at $400 and less even at times NIB. Based on that I'd say you'll be hard pressed to get more than $300 for it and might not get that. As a carry gun the lighter weight ones really are better even if only .38 Special. Since your M60 is a .357 not a .38 special some might consider it worth more I dunno.

Mine is the 3" with adjustable sights and has CTC laser grips on it as well. It's not for sale at any price and honestly I've not seen many M60s for sale so can't really say for sure if the .38 snubby low ball prices have cut their price or not. I'd just hold on to it if it were mine.

Used guns go for about 80% of new.  But then again you have to subtract the commission fee of the gun shop, any where from 20-30% for a consigned gun.
If the shop is going to buy it out right they usually pay 1/2 of what they think they they can sell it for.
So if the sale price is $400 as Graybeard suggested you will either recieve $200 if the shop buys it or any whre from 280 to 320 from the consignment.
Then there are always private party transfers depending on the state your in you can either sell it or sell it through a shop/FFL
But for $320 I'd keep it.  Then again I like shopping the used racks just for goodies that have been pre-owned but not abused.

Thanks guys.  I got an offer of $375.00 so I took it.  For concealed carry I like my S&W 642, but I may look for an Auto.

Bill,
I like the idea of the revolver and own quite a few.  i have a colt Det spl and have shot it in a steel shoot.  When I win the previous month I shoot a compact handgun the next month.  My concern is that 38 special out of a 2" gun does not do what a .380 out of a 3" gun will.  We have some metal swingers in the club shoot and my 38 out of the 4 or 6 inch revolvers will spin the plate but the same ammo out of the 2" will not and lighter bullets out of my 380 will move the same swingers.  They do make short barreled handgun ammo and if your going to carry a sub compact 9, 357 sig, 38, 357, 40, or 45 that you may want to look into as carry ammo.
