I have an older .223 b/b that just don't shoot to suit me and seeing as I have a .223 that will way out shoot me I am considering a rechamber/ rebore, I have lots of time to consider this as funds are pretty much nonexsitant right now.
One of the TCU chamberings is what I am looking at, I have a good supply of 6mm bullets left over from a .243 so that is a choice. I don't have a .25 or 6.5 but I do have a swedish mauser 6.5x55 going together and I have a 7x57 and a 280 rem to cover 7mm, So .25 or 6mm is where I have been looking. I like light recoiling rifles, not that I am recoil sensitive I just prefer to shoot them, ( I also have a 376 Steyr) Also 300 yards is the max I will probably shoot this rifle. I want to keep the .223 parent case. Also will the .25 or .243 be enuff to clean out the .223 bore?
We have .25, 6mm, 6.5mm, 7mm, Thoughts? Opinions? Input desired. Thanks friends.
