.44 or .45 in Huntsman?
« on: October 26, 2008, 05:25:03 AM »
Any quick answers on that one?
Difference between .428 and about .449?
Sabots both measure about .039 thickness
.
I'm thinking the .44 will be a little easier to load shot after shot, but is that about the only difference?
Mine is about maybe 8 years old. Won it at an NWTF event. Just realized I had a package of both bullets and was interested in a consensus about one vs. the other.

Doubt you could tell the difference, but check your local regulations, in WA state there are animals you can hunt with a .45 and not with a .44.  Larry

Bad news for you, Neither will work. The Huntsman bore is 0.445". Even the .44 bullet with sabots will be 0.467 which will never fit. I have had good results when using a .357 pistol bullet in a Hornady Blue sabot for .45 caliber.  Hornady Blue sabots are a bit tough to get these days.
