It was an 11 1/4" stainless with a brake that JD said he did specifically for the chambering. Shot some 700 AP slightly over 1000fps. Wish I tried shooting it at 100 yards, but at 50 yards with a 2X Leupold, it would easily do 1" groups. It always shot 1/2" one shot groups!

A buddy modified the barrel to also take rimmed 500 Linebaugh cases slightly trimmed. Originally asked JD to do a 500 Linebaugh Encore barrel, with the same twist as the .50 American Eagle, but he wouldn't do it. Because of the long throat, I was able to shoot my 470 grain bullets from my 500 Linebaugh revolver, and seated it longer than a .500 Maximum OAL. Jay Turner told me he did an article on the 50-70-750 14" contender a while back. I don't recall the exact load I used for the 700 AP bullets, but it was with H110. It sure was a fun barrel, and recoil wasn't as bad as I expected! Only reason I sold it, was because the Encore trigger reach was just a little too long for my short fingers.
