I've only got one; a Wal-Mart Weatherby, blue steel, black stock .223 with a Tasco EXP scope in Leupold bases and a Timney trigger.  The factory trigger stunk.  The Timney is much better and provides a three position safety.  I'm debating whether to shoot it or a sporterized 8mm Mauser in a precision tactical rifle match tomorrow.

I'll probably get my son a youth model 7mm-08 with two stocks when he's old enough to start hunting in a few years.
Cordially,

Mine is a Howa 1500, The Thumbhole Varminter Supreme in .204 Ruger, blued with the nutmeg lams. With the Mueller 8.5-25 x 50AO "Eraticator" scope on top, she weighs over 12 lbs. I hav'nt made my mind up about the Stoney Point bipod as yet. They might go.

Got a Vanguard 300 Wby Mag on a Boyd's Laminated stock, Glass bedded floating barrel. Good shooter but does have occasional flier (may be the shooter). Factory Remington Core Locs 180 grainers kick like a mule. I load Hornady SST 150 grainers at about 3000 fps and the recoil is not bad at all. I have to seat the bullets at the line on the bullet but they need to be out a little farther. The magazine does not permit me to keep em out where they need to be. Anyway to inlarge a magazine on a Vanguard?

I have a 257 Vanguard Sub moa that I Really like. She shoots well, usually around 3/4 of an inch at 100. The only problem that I have is that she does not always feed correctly and can actually be tough to load. Has anyone experienced this? I have experienced enough tip deformations that I have switched to Ballistic tips to combat this.

[Not sure of the barrel price, it should be on there site]

I did my own fitting.

Bruce

Looks like the a pre-fit will run about $355..................I did mine ten years ago or so for about a hundred less.........best that I can remember!

Very good shooter for a hunting weight gun.
