ANOTHER 25 ACP conversion question....
« on: October 30, 2008, 12:08:34 AM »
I have just picked one of these up but have yet to receive it and have a couple questions.

Priming cases

What primers are you using?

How are you re-priming cases?

Cases:

As I would never need a hundred or even fifty cases. Buying new brass is out. So pick ups are my way to go. Do you need to re-size cases first?

I've been re-reading all the older 25acp posts and haven't seen it mentioned. If it was, sorry I missed it.

 Thanks,

 CW

 EDIT:

 I just searched and found 100PCS 25ACP was $12.00 @ Midway... I'll be using new brass.....  :-[ :-[ :-[

Hello, I just got one about two weeks ago and I like mine. I am a reloader so I already had had most of what I needed.... but use a  small mallet and a 1/16" punch and the shell holder to remove spent primers ( #15 ) Lee shell holder and a Lee Auto Prime to install new ones no need to resize the brass.  Also I am using CCI 400 small rifle primers as suggested.   TF

I use my old RCBS Rockchucker press to deprime and a Lee primer that mounts on the press. CCI 400 small rifle primers for all but Blackhorn 209. The CCI 450 small rifle magnum primers will work for some saboted bullets and BH209, but no joy with the conicals or FPB's using BH209.

OK, so I dont need dies, good. CCI400 primers, check. Thanks guys, hopefully I can get out there with in the next couple days and try it out!!

BUSTA, I have been shooting shock waves with success... Your suggesting full bore slugs?  Like the Maxi ball and Maxi hunter? Of no what....

I have a couple side hammers that shoot the Maxi ball very well, but prefer the accuracy edge the scope on the Knight MK85 and now H&R Side Kick offers. I haven't had the side hammers out in years... I hadn't much thought of full bore slugs in the in-line front stuffer... It DOES make sense and I also subscribe to the bigger bore is better camp....

Nope, on the Maxi's, don't like 'em.

These are a couple.
