Good deal???
« on: November 04, 2008, 03:30:44 AM »
I've seen a 25-06 Handi with a Nikon 3-9 Prostaff offered up for $300.  The guy says the rifle/scope were bought new last year and is unfired.  This rifle has a plain, dark colored, what appears to be laminate type stock.  Looks to be a good deal to me....,almos too good - anything in particular to look for in a gun like this?  Serial number is NU-2323XX......, any idea how old?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

If it is new and unfired sounds like good deal.
look in the FAQs for year the N is for NEF the U is the year don't want to spoil all your fun, then you will get to see lots more info.
Is it a 26" ultra

Scope was about $150 new...

Gun is a 2004 per GBO FAQ's & Sticky...

If truly unfired, it's a great deal...   As long as it's in
good + shape, not a bad deal...

Unless you know them personally, it could be tough
to tell if unfired.

Good luck,
Mike

Sounds like a good deal to me clarkfork. ;)

It's not likely an Ultra unless it's checkered, pallet wood(walnut stained hardwood) laminated stocks are made also, they're common and somewhat  confusing too to describe!!  :D The butt on the rifle below is laminated pallet wood.

I wouldn't describe a cinnamon resin laminated stock as plain and dark tho Rex.  ;)
