The new FNAR rifle. Has anyone handled/shot one of these?
« on: November 09, 2008, 02:43:28 AM »
Dear Guys,

I was just looking at the descriptions/pictures of the new autoloader made by FN. Its called the FNAR. Looks like a beefed up BAR commercial action, but modified to take detachable 20 round box magazines.

The rifle looks great.  (but, pretty pricey at $1,400 and up.)

Has anyone handled or shot one of these?

I think FN could double their sales if they offered it with a standard buttstock, without the pistol grip.  With a standard buttstock it would probably escape from the definition of an assault weapon, and it would be a true dual-purpose firearm  (hunting, and serious protection if ever needed).

The .308 lightweight version looks pretty nice.

I couldn't figure out whether the mags are standard M-14 mags, or a new FM mag.
