DonsHarley82 I only use one layer of wrap... BUT, it depends on the make of the gun. Teflon tape comes in 3 colors, white, pink, and yellow. Each of these tapes are different thicknesses, yellow being the thickest. Which tape you use is dependent on how tight the BP is when you scre it in. The plug can not be sot tight that it cuts the tape or cause it to ball up. It should go in smoothly and seat on the barrel flange snuggly, not tight, snuggly - just tight enough to compress the tape on the face of the BP. This compression is where the BP should seal the blow back gases as it was designed.
Wrapping the plug correctly is important. Here are some pics that might help explain the whole thing more. Once you get use to doing this it takes no time at all...
This picture gve you the basic idea...
Here is one wrapped in white tape from the Knight
This is an attempt to explain the operation and theory
This works very well for me in all of my different inlines - for any of you I would suggest try it but still check it to make sure it is not seizing until you are confident that it will work for you.
