S&W clips??
« on: November 03, 2008, 05:21:13 PM »
I have a S&W 645. I saw a guy selling a bunch of mags for the 1911 45. They were 'relatively" cheap and I was wondering about using them in MY gun. Does any one know if there is another clip/mag that fits the 645?

Pro-Mag makes mags for the S&W 645, or used to at least.  Their quality is spotty enough that I personally wouldn't buy a Pro-Mag unless I could get it for under $10.

Pro-Mag is the only source I'm aware of for 645 mags, other than S&W, but there may be other companies making them that I am unaware of.

To the best of my knowledge, 1911 and S&W Magazines are completely differenent and cannot be interchanged.

You're right.  I thought he was asking about sources for aftermarket S&W 645 mags, but a 1911 mag will NOT work in a 645.

Drat! I only have 2 mags for this gun. Those 1911 mags LOOKED real close to mine.  That's my luck!
