no no man that wouldn't be fair i've shot 100 yard groups with my m24 in the .1's, i can't even do that with my 243.

and scattergunner the whole " shoot whatever you have at whatever you have to shoot at" thing wont work . you can't mail home body parts i already ask the barrett makes a mess of things inside of 200 , it was like putting a M80 in a tomato, real cool and no paper work

we will have a special category for you and any other servicemen serving our country who would like to be in the postal match.

i'll bet there are a lot of guys here who would like to see what real military hardware can do.

my rifles i use:

m24 will group as good as you can shoot
m14 right MOA
M82a1 1.5 MOA
M4 1.5MOA

i have a M4 range coming up they said will shoot at 100 after we zero so if we do i'll send it in.

This sounds like fun guys. I had read about a postal match before, and whats funny I've been off the site for a while except for quick "whats for sell" looks, and have been wondering about when a postal match might be held. So I look forward to trying it out. Hope that .204 is still driving tacks. Maybe I'll try the 338-06 at targets again too. Oh so little time....

Very funny , at that time I'd had better luck throwing the rifle at the card , would have given a better group .

ok, i shot my first string for this little match today and I'm dissapointed. trying some new bullets to see how they do and well, not as good as what I normally shoot. my standard loads did much better...but why can't we do a 4 round group (.625") or better yet a 3 round (.375"). Best I could do today was 1.38". Oh well, i'll have to keep at it.

i did learn two things today though...first, my handi shoots better a bit dirty (it took 7 fouling shots to get the groups down to normal) and second, the Pentax that my handi wears is not nearly as clear as my Nikon. i would shoot a round through the handi then move over to the savage and wow! what a difference. It also seemed that the Nikon had more magnification.

Well its not going well for me, hope its going better for others. The .204 isn't doing any better than 1.25 for 5 shots. It has been a little windy both times, but I didn't think it would affect it. So I'll give a good scrubbing and try again. The 338-06 had a 4shot .84 going and I completely missed the card on the fifth shot. I wished I couldn't see those first 4 holes. Made me a little tense for the last shot and blew it. Each pair were sharing holes slightly apart from one another, and then I ran out of time again for another 5 shots. I'll try again maybe tomorrow. I havn't shot a group that would compete with you guys yet.

I'm getting worse. Same loads. Two 1.75" groups. Shouldn't let the wife take the handi on our last hog hunt. Actually I can't blame her. I wasn't shooting good today at all.

Maybe they can add a "handi"-capped class for us to shoot in.

Hope it gets better for you. I'm still stinking the range up with my shooting. Everyone else must have their poker faces on.

got your card in saturdays' mail. yours is the first postal match post card received and that places you in first place so far!

the cards are supposed to be post marked by Oct 31st, i'll give it a few days aftetr that to let the mail get through then start scoring.

Hi buddy, nice to hear from you again as well. Regarding the camp, the answer is no, the camp is just as it was, the house has had a lot of work done on it though. The house won over the camp and now with the economy the way it is I have all I can do to keep the house and the camp going the way they are. How have you been? Getting any hunting or shooting in? I am planning on heading up north to the camp on the 31st for a week or 10 days and then going back for about the same amount of time over the Thanksgiving Holiday and returning home about the first of December. Any pheasant hunting with the .410 or how about partridge(Grouse) around home. Have you been making any beans? Now that it is getting time to fire up the woodstove it's about time for homemade beans with a few partridge breasts thrown in for a meal fit for a king, beans and partridge breasts, a nice fresh loaf of bread and a couple of glasses of wine, my mouth is watering already. One of my buddies from up north fries the breasts after dipping them in flour and egg (I think) and we have then as appetizers before our meal washed down with a cold beer. When in Maine, do as the Mainers I always say. I did have a great trout and salmon fishing trip up north shortly after ice out and was invited to go to Canada for Walleye next year. I said I would go and am looking forward to it....<><....

Looks like the postal match didn't pan out?

How about using it as a fundraiser for the website? $1 a gun? All proceeds go to the website? Just a suggestion that would let folks showcase their talents and help out the site at the same time. Also, we could have all of the cards scanned and displayed in a "Postal Match Library" on the site for future reference. Info on the card could be hand load or factory load information.

Just a suggestion that might help us build a stronger site with more information and have fun doing it.
