Quality synthetic stock for Marlin 336???

Is there a quality synthetic stock set made for the 336? Thanks.

Ram-line make a stock for the 336, it's a plastic/fiberglass composite (mostly plastic), for about $80.  MPI Stocks makes some quality, strong, fiberglass composite stocks, they'll run about $500-$600 installed.  But they are NICE.

I would like to find something a little nicer than the ram-line, but not $500 nice! Something with like a "spider web" finish would be great.

If you're just looking for a different finish, the most popular thing to do with the Marlin's is just refinish the wood stock.  Lots of people just use black epoxy paint with no alterations, while some people take the opportunity to slim down the forend before they paint it.  Both ways look very good on the guns that I've seen.

The hardest part is getting the Mar-Shield finish that Marlin uses off the stock....it's very durable and from what I've read about the process, no one has really found anything that will readily dissolve it.  They just sand the finish off while trying to not damage the wood or checkering in the process.  I would think that with the ability of some paints to adhere to just about anything, just roughing up the finish on the stock would be enough for the paint to stick to it.  If you send it out and use one of the "super" coatings like DuraCoat and the like, then you don't have to worry about ruining the stock (if you are worried about it).

Wild West Guns may have what you are looking for. I think I saw one on a co-pilot carbine they built in a magazine once. 
     I was thinking about getting a laminated wood stock for it's split resistance and then texturing the forend and grip areas with epoxy and a scotch brite pad and then painting it coyote brown.  The brown color makes a nice contrast with flat black like parkerizing or duracoat. Brockman's makes a really neat cartridge trap that can be inlet into the butt of wood stocked rifles. I think the laminated wood stock would be "warmer on the cheek than a fiberglass stock.
