weight vs. length.

I've got an Encore SS muzzy and a .308 pistol barrel so let the addiction begin I guess.....

Now that my wife has started hunting I'm looking for a rifle barrel to see if she likes the Encore rifle setup over the .308 A-Bolt she has taken an elk with.

I'm looking at either a 25-06 or .243 stainless barrel. Using for javelina and the southwest coues white tail deer.

A few questions I have is do any of you know where raw weights are of some of the factory barrels are on the net. Say a 28" Pro SS fluted vs. a heavy barrel 24" stainless? Think that .25-06 will kick a lot more over that .243?

I'd prefer a SS fluted 24" unlike or like the 28" Pro SS, but thats a custom job. I've thought about just having the Pro SS fluted cut down 4" to reduce weight and swing.

Anyways thanks for the help in advance.
