There are many ammo distributors out there I have never had any trouble getting the 17MII ammo .I've bought some as low as $5 per 50 but most mail order is around $8-$10. Some have rechambered to differant center fire 17's. Kurt

Same here, I really enjoy my .17 Mach2 and there has not been a problem getting ammo for it. I guess a .17 HMR would be easy and you could keep it a rimfire if you did not want to go to a centerfire. I would think there may be a few guys out there who would be willing to trade a .17 HMR barrel for your .17 Mach2 barrel. By the way, if this helps you I shoot .17 Aqulias out of my .17 Mach2 barrel with GREAT success....<><....:)

Thanks for the replies, dont get me wrong I love my mach2 and I currently have an hmr.I can still get ammo but the gun shop i go to says they may have a hard time getting it so I'm just doing some research on what i may be able to rechamber it to easily enough if ammo becomes scarce or i get a hankerin for a change. What centrefire rounds would I be able to rechamber it in??????

thanks again

Most of the .17 chamberings would work as long as you use the barrel on an SB2 frame, 17 Ackley Hornet, 17 Ackley Bee or maybe 17 Fireball would be some I'd consider. The barrel is 1137 steel instead of the 4140 used in centerfire barrels so I don't think it would be best to do 17 Remington, although it's been done before with limited to poor success, barrel life would likely not be the best tho.
