Although not legal for deer here it might have to do with deer season depending on your area. POWDERMAN.  ??? ???

Most places in OK do not sell buckshot.  Hunting with buckshot is illegal in OK.

Last Friday I was in a gun store making a purchase. One of the salesman was talking about guns sales and how they had increased. He said that so many people were coming in wanting AR rifles that they couldn't get them fast enough. Many people chose to get a shot gun and buckshot as a second choice. The guy told me he had sold over 200 boxes of buckshot this season and it wasn't nearly over yet. He also told me that most of what he had sold was for personal defence instead of hunting.

Lots of buckshot available at the last gunshow in Wichita. I haven't been to The Great Wal-Mart of China for about a month, so I don't know what they have. I have a goodly supply of 12 and 20 gauge, and while loading 2 1/2" brass shells for an old 28 gauge I bought, I loaded a few #4 buck shells. That might seem puny, but 16 pellets is nothing to sneeze at, and my wife can handle the gun easily.
