Looking to joint a Veterans organization and would like the forums input. Pros and cons of each.

Froghunter, I would think either one would be fine. I belong to both here but I am most active with the VFW. They both have some worth while programs for kids, and community.
 check with both organizations in your town and decide. I have found in my travels that when a town has a large active VFW they also seem to have a smaller less active legion and vice versa. That seems to be the case with the smaller towns.  Thank you for your willingness to join one or the other.

Might consider American Veterans or Amvets.  Posts are almost everywhere in the US.

I belong to both the American Legion and the VFW.  Both are pretty good.  If a person has a service connected disability he/she should join the DAV.  The DAV got my 70% disability for me through appeals.
