Actual barrel length.
« on: November 25, 2008, 01:49:28 AM »
I know Encore or Contender barrels are measured from end to end.
In Revolvers the barrels do not include the cylinders. Don't you think there should be a standard of measure of barrel length?

Why is the Encore and Contender barrels measured to include the chamber? Same as rifles.

Just something I was wondering... ;D :D ;)

To my knowledge, revolvers are the only firearms that don't include the chamber in the measurement.  I mean....come on....total consistancy would make life much to SIMPLE!!!  ???  Walt

It isn't even consistent with revolvers.  The Wisconsin DNR includes the length of the chamber in calculating the barrel length for hunting.
