.327 federal magnum
« on: November 30, 2008, 07:21:01 AM »
Wouldn't that be sweet in a 16.5" handi! I want one in a bad way, I think it would be the bees knees for smallish deer coyotes or other critters inside 100yds or just plain plinkin fun. Just imagine how quiet .32S&W would be fired from a long gun.  I wonder what would be the most cost effective means of building one. Rebore a 22H or stub another bbl.

Either way will cost $250-$300 plus the donor barrel costs, Stimpy has a 32H&R and I think someone else has a 327 mag.

I've made up a few using the surplus British 303 barrels, same barrel I am using on the 32-20 stub project.  They are really a lot of fun to shoot, they are quiet with about the recoil you would expect from a 22 Mag.  I think you could probably load up a nice sub-sonic round with cast bullets, I made up some sub-sonic loads for a 30 Carbine Handi using 170 gr cast.  Larry
A gun is just like a parachute, if you ever really need one, nothing else will do.
