Well, I remember a post as well...dammed if I can find it....
Anyhow, I recommend the med weight bullets from the rifle. Specifically the Hornady 158XTP FP bullet is a god send for the 357 rifle shooter!! You will get more velocities and be able to relyably expand the heavier 357 bullets. The 180 HP's are a possibility, but I prefer the 158'160 range myself. One important thing... Stay away from the HP bullets for all but the 180's as they will expand violently and may well under penetrate.
I shot a couple deer with my Colt Whitetail-er 8" revolver and the 140gr Speer. It worked well enough, but never killed with authority. if you know what I mean. I even shot one with a 1911 and 230 Hydro shok's. It was really close so I tried it, it worked. At the shot she jumped and ran about 75 yards and dropped. the shot was at about 10 yards thru the heart/lungs. Thru and thru penetration.
