bank vault tight?
« on: January 25, 2009, 08:54:54 AM »
As some of you know I just got a new G2 frame and was waiting on delivery of a new MGM barrel.  My first for the G2.  I have an Encore and the barrel locks up "tight as Dick's hat band" as my grandmother would say.  However on the G2 there is a gap at the top that you could slide a sheet or two of typing paper into when it is closed.  Is this of concern and who would need to make the adjustment if it is no good?  The barrel maker or TC?   ???  Thanks for the insight guys. Gary

All my barrels for my G2 are like that, including MGM and T/C original barrels. Don't know for sure if it's right, but it works.

I have eight Contender barrels.  The barrel to frame gap ranges from .001" to .007" depending on which barrel.  This is of no consequence if you shoot factory ammo, but since I hand load I like to resize my brass taking this little extra head space into account.  I don't know if it helps accuracy, but my brass should last longer not being worked as much.
