Can anyone give me any info on the tree lounge. I am considering the gun hunters version and wanted to know if anyone had any good or bad experiences with them

Be sure to take your favorite pillow with you. They are so comfortable you'll go to sleep. :eek: At least I did, that was my single biggest gripe about them. I was so comfortable all laid back there I'd often go to sleep and miss opportuntities at deer.

They are heavy but they do have a new lighter weight version that might help on that. Some folks seem to think they are difficult to set up on tree but I never found that to be the case. They used to come with a wood wedge you used to adjust angle when you got to the height you wanted to be. As far as I know they do not now so I'm not sure how you adjust the angle once in place. Yes it really does need to be adjusted most times.

I didn't find the claims of being able to shoot in a 360* angle to be so true, for me at least. I found shots very far to either side of stright ahead to be very difficult and not as good in that regard as most stands.

My opinion is that it is a really comfortable stand you can spend the entire day in with no real problem. But I tend to fall asleep in it which in this stand is perfectly safe to do. I found it not so good to shoot from however. I sold mine. Would I get another? Maybe. They are comfortable.

how do they do for a handgun hunter? is it easy to get a shot off with one?

I've had a Tree Lounge for almost 25 years. Graybeard is correct, they are very comfortable. In fact, once while I was hunting from mine,a deer walking in dry leaves nearby woke me up. I shot it! I've spent many enjoyable days in that old stand. I have no problem shooting a bow or a rifle from mine. I have not tried a hand gun, but I see no problems there. I don't believe a safer or more comfortable stand is made. Just my experience.

I know this is an old post but I used it in search of a good treestand.

Anyway, currently treelounge is having their annual demo clearance sale. I just ordered the basic tree stand with a gun mount (hold the gun so I don't drop it) for a hair over $200 (including s/h). Their web address is www.treelounge.com. Sounds like the perfect stand for me. I'm guaranteed to fall asleep in one. I just don't want to fall out when I do...

What I used to do when napping in mine was to take a strong bungee cord that was the correct length to slip across my belly and under both of the frame sides and pull the ends together in the middle and interlock the hooks. I used the rubber ones with strong S ring hooks. It's pretty hard to fall out of one anyway and done like that it's impossible while napping and it's fairly quick and easy to undo so you can sit up to take a shot should a deer be so inconsiderate as to walk by and wake you up.

As a sidenote, the 'reduced price demo' model tree stand arrived today and I can't tell it's been used at all. Nice to save a little bit of cash.

this is the angle adjusters they use now, for both sections. they slide on the back bar of the seat and the foot climber.

I have been using one this year for the first time and really like it. I don't ever leave it out unless I'll be back the next day and its somewhat of a PITA unhooking, loading, etc but its okay.
I enjoy the ability to take 5 min powernaps and I agree with GB about the 360 part. Its hard enough to LOOK behind the stand much less take a shot.
But you are pretty much good to go for 180 degrees.
I'm pleased with mine and just killed a nice eight point out of it. when you hook up the cinch strap and wear a harness (actually very convenient) its rock solid. the gun holder works good too.
