Finally got around to my 308

I put a scope usable safety on my 24/47 Mauser action that is barreled for 308 Win. I drilled and tapped the action and mounted a 4X Redfield Widefield on it. I reworked the military trigger to a useful degree and "sporterized" the original stock for now. This barrel once resided on another of my Mauser actions which is now a 6MM Remington so I know it is a proven performer. I plan on making this a very light rifle with a 20 inch barrel and I have a lot of different 30 caliber bullets to try. I am going to start with 150 grain Speer Hotcors and Nosler Solid base bullets. First test powders are going to be AA2520 and H380. I better get o loading some.

I have an almost identcal rifle going together, It has a 20"  A&B barrel on a M-48 action in a Boyds JRS stock I gotta finish the stock and change the bolt to clear a scope, Then I think a black matt bake on finish to tidy it up. Nice project.

I like the JRS stock design myself and I will probably put one on this rifle. The 308 barrel on mine is a stepped military made in Israel. I should have left it on the other rifle because my varmints are feral hogs hunted at night and I think the 6MM is a bit light for this work.
