Calendar post
« on: October 13, 2008, 05:34:01 PM »
Okay guys last chance. Last chance to get those pictures up. I will lock the post Sunday night and then put the poll up next week.

Be sure you read the rules before you post a picture. I will be looking over the pictures pretty close to make sure the comply.

Here the are by the way.

Pictures and title only no narrative, no replies and no comments in this topic. I'll edit  and delete any posted.  These must be new pictures and not entered in any previous cannon calendar post.

If you have what you think is a good picture but but don't know how to edit it, post it.  I will contact you off line and help you. If you post a picture that needs some work, I'll drop you a PM or email and suggest how to improve it.

Try to work something in to show the scale of you cannon.  We use the Powder can a lot but we don't want this calendar to be an advertisement for  GOEX.  We want to show off our guns. So unless you can work the powder can in as an unobtrusive part of the background leave it out.

The pictures must be of your cannon.  Static or in action.

Next week  I will  open a post with a poll and we will select the pictures to be used on the Calendar.

Post the picture here on the  board in the usual format  576 pix wide at 72 ppi.  Save the picture on your computer at a higher resolution and larger size---best full size as it come out of the camera.  Then if your picture is selected I will have you send me your high resolution  picture for  posting in the calendar. It's better to use a photohosting site like https://www.gboreloaded.com/mhp/ for posting and linking you pictures for this post.  You want your picture to jump out at people when they scroll through them.  That just doesn't happen with thumbnails from direct upload pictures.  You do not have to use a photohosting sight to take part,  you can still use direct upload.

Don't forget you have to type words in order to post a picture. So just type in a title and post your picture. Remember I will delete any extra comments or narrative....

Okay you guys, get off your broad backsides and get on the campaign trail and start knocking on doors, and get the vote out!

When you visit the other forums  here on GBO tell the folks there to come on over and vote.  Get the word out.  Remember the Cannon calendar is available at the GBO EStore in the GBO BPM&C department. http://www.cafepress.com/gbollc.   Click on the link to GBO BPM&C and see the various items avaialble.  Proceeds from sales goes to support GBO forums.

Here is a suggestion on how to recycle your 2008 calendar.  I know that some family room decor does not allow the violent images of our hobby.  And albums are rarely looked at.  So all the snapshots of people and places that I like to recall, I staple on the walls of my garage and shop.

This is what I came up with.

Until I ran out of frames.

...I voted too, and there was a pretty good selection to chose from! Action shots were favorites, but nice clean shots, not too far away, with good detail, take the prize! Didn't matter, cannon, mortar, minni's, lookin' good! Looks like it will be a good calender! BoomLover

Coming down to the wire folks.  Poll closes Sunday morning. If you not have selected your favorite 13 there is still time.

Sunday even ing I will be send out messages to the winners asking them to send me a there full size pictures. So if you are one of those folks who are out in front, start looking for your pictures.  You will have one week to get them to me, then I'll move to the next person.
