AR stock change
« on: December 03, 2008, 09:11:44 PM »
What is needed to change out a solid AR stock to a 4 or 6 position stock?  What tools are needed?  Any recommended brands of tools and stocks?

Removal is pretty straight forward. Push in rear take down pin. Pivot upper half forward. Push down spring loaded boss at rear of lower receiver, directly in front of buffer with spoon. Remove buffer and spring from stock. Use this to unscrew butt stock nut.

Or better yet buy armorers tool if you are planning on removing barrel in future.

Install colapsable stock. Put in new spring and buffer from inside lower receiver.
I like magpul, but tapco, dpms, bushmaster, CAA, Advanced Technology or any other name brand are fine.
