Heller must have scared the crap out of the brass at the NRA.  crap, can't let the sheep know that some how we have really been successful.  Have to tell them that their rights are in greater danger than ever.  If we don't they won't send us any money. 

Again don't think that I am singling out the NRA.  Every issue has two sides and the professional "advocates" on both sides make their living out of not solving a thing.   All they have to do is scare the crap out of the sheep.

Pardon me if I don't buy your presentation of the NRA.  With regards to Heller, it scared the hell out of me -- one more liberal judge and the decision would have been 5-4 in favor of Washington DC and their argument that the 2nd amendment pertains to a collective right enjoyed by virtue of being a member of a militia and not otherwise.  The NRA doesn't solve anything, it just perpetuates problems to keep the gravy train rolling, is that your view of the NRA?  I think they get a lot of valuable information out on voting records of politicians every election cycle, information that almost certainly would be swept under the rug by the respective politicians otherwise.  Cheers and salutations to the NRA!!!  Good work and keep it up.

I also think the NRA and affiliated state organizations serve an important purpose and I appreciate the way they keep me informed.  I also enjoy being a member, friends of the NRA dinners, raffles, and reading their magazines.

A lot of people do not like their fund raising tactics, which can and have tired me also.  Well, there is a cost/benefit to everything.  To me, the goods are significantly more important than the bads and out weigh the criticisms I have.  What IS perfect?

I don't much like being referred to as a sheep because I belong to, enjoy, and support the NRA, but since the NRA backed the Heller decision and has sued several cities and leveraged the effects of the decison to roll back bans on self-protection, it is clearly ridiculous to suggest that the NRA was scared by the decision or opposed to it.  Virtually the day after the decision, the NRA filed suits against several local gun bans and prevailed in some of them.  Since I support gun ownership by law-abiding citizens, I applaud that.  So I guess I am a happy sheep then.

Well said, there are ALOT here that have thier issues with the NRA, the admin included, BUT, and it's a big but, we are all on the same side. NOTHING, and I say NOTHING is  perfect outside of god. We need to get in line, shut up and toe the line. This isn't a little personal squabble, it is a fight for the Constitution of the United States of America! United we stand Divided we Fall.

I call on ALL to stand together, join the NRA, Join the GOA, join the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms and all other  gun owner groups. I have had my differences with MANY here. But no matter what if you are for the second Ammendment I am with you. This is a war, not a little squabble. I been through basic training and understand when it is time to STFU and get in line!

This entire thread saddens me.  The fact that we must worry of such things saddens me.

Alaska is the World prize right now ,Obma isn't going to want to lose that ,unless he is so messed up and broke from giveing out all that free money.

Well it looks like Obama is in a real mess ,even though the FBI stopped the investigation ,the FBI has about 3.5 minutes of tape they want to talk to him about.
One thing for sure ,the Country now is about speaking in one voice that Obama knew something about all of this, or he was involved.
Some calls are out there for him to step down , and he cant be allowed into the White House.
45 Days and this guy is been in more hot water and  more hated than any other Person ever elected.
This Rob Emanuel ,is according to the FBI is a Mafia acting Thug , and Obama continues to have to be saying he had no knowledge of  ,or knew ,some of the worst people this country has.

  If I survive current financial mess, I think I am going to buy a .223 next spring.  I guess you can say I am delaying my gun purchase out of fear, not because I am afraid of Obama, but because I am really afraid of my wife. She isn't letting me spend money on guns the rest of the winter.  She says my new 30-06 is enough for this year. 

Perhaps you should echo those words(one is enough for this year) to her the next time she wants a new purse, dress or pair of shoes. Or better yet, go out and buy the new gun AND a new wife! THAT would be the day!!!
