Cookiman, we sell these in our shop.  The are a little heavy, and have typical germanic styling.  The 38s are not rated for +P and are subject to frame melt laws in some jurisdictions.  As you noted they are very economically priced.

Cookieman,

I have one in .357. They are a bit heavy but not bad for the money. I got mine a few years back for $215. Mine is strictly for Home Defense loaded with 125 GR Remington Golden Sabers. The Rubber Grip handle fits the hand pretty nice and helps with the recoil which isn't too bad anyway due to the weight of the gun. It is not an S&W but for the price and its intended purpose I like it pretty well.

They're no thing of beauty but they work, I'd rate them about equal to Charter Arms but heavier. Another and even cheaper revolver is the "Armscor" brand made in the Philippines I think. I had no complaints with the one I tried. There is also the "Comanche" revolvers from Argentina, not finely finished but all steel and reliable. I would rate both the Armscor and Comanche revolvers better than Charter Arms, although both are also heavier. Both are available as .38 or .357 magnums if you prefer.
The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.

Hello Cookie,
I've had one for a few years and it is a pretty decent shooter
You could do worse. You could do better but not for the price.

Happy shooting

Thanks Gene.  I don't get down that way as often as I would like.  But maybe in the spring I will be down again and come to "The Cape" and look you up.  It's usually an express trip and I spend all my time at the folks place, as they are quite old and don't get around that much anymore.  It's been years since I have been to Cape Girardeau, it would be a fun trip.   June maybe, reunion time, for our clan.
