Marlin 1894 SS or nickel?
« on: December 03, 2008, 05:02:44 PM »
On the older Marlin's in .357 or .44, are they nickel or SS?  Looked at one this week but the finish reminded me of a nickel plated revolver rather than brite SS.  Any ideas on what these are selling for?

The 1894's had a short run of Stainless having been made. Perhaps some of the small parts on the stainless were nickel plated.I'm sure they sell for a premium over the blued versions, due to rarity.

Best I can tell this is a SS 1894 in .357 mag.  The polished  finish had me puzzled.  I got it for a little over three bills so I guess I did OK.

You got a fantastic deal. I'd trade you a 1894P 44 magnum in a heartbeat and my 1894P aint for sale !!!
Great gun and most fun you can have with your drawers on. I have a 1894C customized thats my favorite plinking gun along with my Rossi brass frame 45LC. I'm going to hunt deer with both this year.
