Just got a Turkish mauser long rifle from Empire Arms. Has an almost mint bore, nice stock, about 75% blue on the metal. The bolt face is almost mint, no pitting at all. This one should be a fine shooter. Can't say enough about the condition of the rifle, Empire is a great place to purchase.

Double D: the 7.65x53 is the Argentine cartridge, if I'm correct. As I understand it, all the Turkish Mausers were 8mm. Mikey.

All the Turk's that I've seen have been in the 8mm. When I got mine from Empire they only had three to choose from, and a nice one it is to. I beleave that they hand pick most of their guns at Empire, don't buy and sell just run of the mill weapons.

Yes Mikey you are right the Argentines used the 7.65x53, and it is most commonly refered to as that 7.65x53 Argentine it's also known as the 7.65x53 Belgian and has been used by Turkey, Boliva, Peru, Paraguay, Ecuador and Columbia.

Turkey even had it in a Peabody Martini.
