It will weight up to 1,010 grains, largest range of the common balance beam scales. It has excellant agate bearings. Includes a check weight that provides the extended range above 505 grains. Highly effective magnetic dampening. Has a fitted dust cover to protect itself from fouling when stored. Base is die cast zinc, or "pot metal." Originally marketed to reloaders by Lyman and sold by RCBS for maybe the last 30 years.
