308 Questions
« on: December 14, 2008, 07:34:37 AM »
I am considering selling my T/C 204 because of my current job situation.  If I can I want to replace it with a lesser value gun. I have always wanted a 308. So heres my question. How good is the NEF/H&R in this particular cartridge? Any particular models I should look at? Thanks!

I am new to this sickness caused by the handi rifle.  My first was a ultra hunter in .308.  I am very happy with the 308...it went deer hunting in November.  I seem to have better luck with the 168 or 165 gr bullets.  I'm under two inches at 100 yards.  If I didn't have a horrible tendency to mash the trigger and/or change my point of aim between rounds, I have no doubt that it would shoot smaller groups.  I am no expert, but I will say this; I believe my handi's are more accurate a weapon than I am a shooter.  ;)  Good luck.

I have several handies but no .308, I think one is high on the list for my next rifle thou. I don't think they have gotten very bad reviews, a few complaints but you'll always get a few. 8)

I have the .308 survivor.  It will shoot moa or better with factory 150 grain federal ammo.  Shoots better than my .223 and .243 handis and as good as my .204.

Mine is the standard .308 with pallet wood stock and I really like it. I shoot 150 grain Core-lokt in mine since they are plenty accurate for deer in mine (1-1/2") at 100 yds. I haven't tried to do anything or diff. ammo since it does what it is supposed to with the cheap Core-Lokt. Got a nice doe with it earlier this year.
