My youngest returns from the sandbox
« on: December 20, 2008, 10:00:46 AM »
My youngest son Josh returned from Irac earlier this week. He has been at camp Shelby for the normal alloted time. We just got a call from him & his bus will be over in Jonesboro in a few hours. Me and the Wife
will be leaving soon. It's a great Christmas gift.  :)

Our main long AR. gun Deer seasons are over, but we have a little 3 day, either sex hunt in Dec. 26,27 & 28 & we plan on hitting the woods. He said he wants to use my XLR 45-70 just for fun, he can use whatever he wants!!   ;)

nomosendero, my son had two tours in Iraq and one in Afganistan, and each one was as hard for us, as the first. I KNOW, what a relief it is for you to have him safe at home.
God bless your ENTIRE family for producing such a son, and thank him for a father whom appreciates his character and courage.
Merry Christmas

Sounds like a perfect Christmas gift....thank your son for service from all of us.

I'm warming up the van right now to go pick our son up,  the 125th is coming in today to Grand Rapids Michigan,  they spent their time in Ramadi so I know just how you feel!  The weather is REAL bad right now....so we will take another way to get there....but we'll make it somehow.
Spent all morning moving snow around so I can get out of here.

Your son and your family are great Americans...and so is everyone else on this site...ButlerFord...thanks to you too and your youngest....and Dee....your family is great too. Heck, your all great!

Guess you can tell I'm kind of excited here myself....

God bless you all

Jim

nomosendero, I know you're proud of your son. Be greatful that he is ok. August of '07, my oldest son, Chris, was seriously injured by a roadside bomb, losing about 50% of the use of his left arm. It was his Fourth tour in Iraq. He's in the Air Force. He will never be the same, physically or emotionally. He was only 24 when it happened. He still has nightmares but won't talk about it. He knows I will always be here for him when he's ready to talk. And he Will talk to me about it, someday.

God Bless your son, and give him a Great Big Hug from all of us in Georgia. He deserves it.
