Ithaca M37 Safety
« on: October 23, 2003, 03:55:49 PM »
I have a 12ga. Deerslayer M37 w/conventional safety on the trigger guard.  I heard somewhere that it was a fairly easy job to convert the safety over to a Left-handed safety???????  Is there any info available on how to do this, or parts required?  Twice I e-mailed Ithaca Gun and got zero replies on the subject!  TIA

Jim,

I had my gunsmith order a lefthanded safety for my Ithaca M37 and swap them out.  It's not expensive, although I can't remember the exact $$$, and wasn't too hard for him to do.

Due to Lawyers the saftey conversions are no longer offered.  Brownell's got sued by some yo-yo who pushed the button the wrong way and thought it was there fault.  There is a man still offering the conversions but you have to sign a waiver of liability and NO INSTALATION is offered.  My insurance will be cancelled if I put one in.
