Anybody have one? I was thinking of buying one I really like the feel of it even more than the ruger 10/22 are there any problems with this gun? any feedback would be appreciated.

I've had mine for about two years - shoots great, easy to clean. Sights are excellent.

I have the 597 22mag and it has been fun I would if in the market look at the 22 version as everyone and their brother has a ruger 10-22 and I frankly like the feel of the remington better.

I got the 597 heavy barrel 22LR about two years ago and have really liked it. It just had a better feel than a 10/22. I had a 10/22 in the past. I put the Volquartsen target hammer in and haven't looked back.

Numerous bricks of ammo have gone down the tube in this one.

I"ve got a 597 LS in 17 HMR and it's a keeper. I also picked up a 22 Mag barrel for it and I can shoot both rimfire magnums with one rifle. The fit/finish on it are superior to my 10/22 SS/Laminated rifle. MI VHNTR

I have the Volquartsen upgrade kit on mine too. It makes a big difference and is well worth the expense.
