1894 saddle ring...

I took the saddle ring off of my 1894 and would like to know if somebody can tell me
what the plug size is for the hole.....The thread and pitch...?..Thanks..

It depends upon the DOM of your rifle, as Winchester 94's were made with two different hole/thread sizes, large/small, for the saddle rings.

MidwayUSA might still sell the plug screws, as I've bought them there, previously.

 :) Found the answer...Post 64 is... 8-40....pre 64 is 1/4-30.. :)

8-40 is a screw size used by some scope base mounts, that will probably be easier than finding a 1/4 30.  A 1/4 28 that is very short may well go in two threads before it gets tight and be just right.  Larry
