777 pellets vs. loose powder?
« on: December 13, 2008, 02:01:36 AM »
I tried the pellets for the first time recently and was amazed at the increase in accuracy over loose powder. Anyone else experience this? This was with my Omega and T/Cs 295 gr. saboted bullets and Remington BP 209 primers. Ignition also seemed to be more rifle like(instantly) also?

Exactly opposite of my experiences. I like loose.

I have better accuracy and less crude ring with loose T7. That said I switched to BH209 this year.

i sighted in with pyrodex loose powder and a 240 grain saboted bullet. was getting 3-4 inch groups shooting 120 grains. tried the pellets i use two of them and get 1-1 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards! im impressed with them will not go back to loose.

Loose for me too. Sort of hard to get 85gr pellets or 110gr ones too.

You will sacrifice some convenience with loose, but you can customize your load for best accuracy.  A change of 5grs. up or down can make a huge difference.

Ditto, I don't like pellets.
