Ken Lighting sight rails?
« on: December 18, 2008, 09:07:14 PM »
I just picked up a G2 Contender with a 10" .22 Match barrel and scope, and it also came with a Ken Lighting sight rail.  Right now the scope is mounted in a Burris setup, but I have toyed with the idea of removing the scope and using the railed sight system.  Anyone tried them, and how do oyu like them?

First up, it's Ken Light (not Lighting) that makes them.

I used to use the mid/high rise mounts for silhouette matches.   What's not to like about them?

One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

Those Ken Light rails are for Contenders, NOT Encores.  It could cause your bullets to twist or your barrel to vibrate.  You better sell that to me.  Where do I send my $50?

Steve :)

P.S.  Oh, I have those sight rails on a good portion of my Contender barrels.  I do have a couple of barrels missing them, so it will have a good home.

Two things:

1.  I know you are joking, because your post otherwise would be improper on a discussion forum.
2.  Read the first post:  it is on a Contender.

Yeah, but it looks like an Encore....... :-\

I can't let him hold on to that....that....better yet just sell me the barrel with the KL rib.

ALL JOKING ASSIDE, I have not seen a better sight set-up for a Contender than those made by Kenny Light.  They are simply the best.  I do have them on many of my barrels and I pick up used ones as often as I can find them.  Many guys I shoot with keep the rib on the barrel and get a good set of rings and scope.  They shoot scope class and open sight class with same gun and do excellent.

You have some good stuff there!!  Enjoy it.

Steve :)
