rem 1100 lw

hey guys i have a 1100 lw in 20 ga . i was wondering how should i store it with the action open or closed . my buddy said he thought to close it and pull the trigger so it's not cocked. this is my first semi so I'm not real sure would dry firring it be a bad thing any info would be great

Closed so dust doesn't get in. I never bother to pull the trigger on mine. Some worry about such I never have.
