I guess I need to change my handle
« on: December 22, 2008, 02:13:05 AM »
Took the plunge and bought another NEF yesterday.  Guy had a rifled 12g slug gun with Bushnell scope for $175.  Took one look and had to have it.  This will make a perfect addition to my collection esp. for hunting in Maryland where for the most part you have to use a shotgun during deer season.  Ok. so maybe I used that as an ecuse.

Oh yea, now I can have it fitted for a muzzleloader ;D

I have managed to keep it to only two.  No, I don't have any idea where all those barrels came from that are hanging on the peg board.

Congrats, feed the fever!!!  ;D If it's an Ultra Slug Hunter, the only barrel they can fit to it is a 10ga.   :-\

No, it's not the ultra slug gun so I should be good to go.

Move fast and get a Huntsman before they're gone.  It sounds like you've become a seriously infected person.  Don't worry, Dr. Tim will take good care of you.

You need to change your handle to something like "nevertoomany".

Merry Christmas,

Pete

Wife was complaining last night about guns sitting in every corner of the living room and three sitting in the entryway.  She took one that she tripped over and went to put it in the vault in the garage,  The vault was full, too full to get another gun in.  She started talking loudly about how there better be another vault under the tree Christmas morning.  We have three now.  I think when I go south in two weeks I'll take some with me to leave at my farm.  That should relieve the stress for a while.  If I could only keep her from buying more guns.

She called our son to meet her at Sportsman's this morning.  She told him he needed to pick something up from her, that she could not take it on Post. (She works on Ft Wainwright Army Post).  That means she has bought another gun.  Oh well, I love that woman.  She is so nice to me.  I never give her a hard time about anything, she shoots better than I do.  Plus she is a fiery little Red Head, that has saved my bacon too many times.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

  Hey Sourdough,
You said you were commin to the shot show. Any chance you could have your wife talk to my wife while you're down here?

I don't understand wimmin, never will. they know we like guns yet they refuse to buy one for us. The only gun my wife has ever bought for me was a 10/22 and that was because I gave her explicit instructions on how to do it and where to go to do it. She says "I'm afraid I'll get you the wrong one."

Anyway back on topic... I was born in Maryland but I got out as soon as I could. Left when I was 15 and didn't leave anything when I left so I have no reason to go back.

Shotguns aren't the same as they were in 1970 and neither is the ammo. Back then you could hunt western Md with a rifle but they might have changed that by now. The rifled slugs shot from rifled bores today just aren't the same as "ponkin balls" shot from smooth bores back then.

  Congratulations on yer new Handi.

I said that this is my second NEF which is accurate, but I do have multiple barrels for my one SB-2 frame (223, 308 & 45-70). I will definientely ahve to give thought as to what my new handle should be.  Ideas so far:
Gottabuyanother
GottheNEFfever
Nevertoomany - (thanks to Petemi)
????

I'll keep trying to come up with new names.

To all, have a very merry Christmas and a safe, happy New Year! :)
