With less than a month for the Dove opener is it only me or are others planning out your dove hunt?

Nope just you. ;D

I am planning to check out public sites, maybe even try to get a hunt together for the Illinois boys here.

I think the dog is more anxious then me, but I can't wait for a skillet load of breast. A lot of wheat stubble around this year.

I got to say, I'm having the shoulder looked at for a labral tear, and may miss the season if I need surgery.

OR I may suffer the pain and just wait till January.

OR I may learn to shoot right handed.

I spent a good portion of the spring refurbishing an old Zastava 16ga, and I have about 40 acres of corn around my house.  I really do not want to miss this go around.

I appreciate the thoughts.  Actually heading to the radiologist in about 30 minutes.  I'll know by Tuesday.

Got a new American Cocker I want to break into retrieving dove, and flushing quail.  Hate for her to miss the fun also.

Even now, the sound of whistling wings cause me to stop whatever I'm doing and look to the skies.  My arms pull up and on one occasion I've come close to shouldering a shovel.

I can feel it with every first deep breath in the morning.

Not that I'm anxious or anything.  :)

By late dove season (about 2nd week of January), I'm pretty well primeval.

That looks like a spot on our farm in NC.
Guess all farms look alike.

Two weeks ago I took my nephew to shoot sporting clays for the first time, His not mine, and I think with my and his shooting there will be some left for breeding after the season.
But that is half the fun.
