I am not sure what you are asking ,but, a bull barrel is a fatter barrel.the other kind is tapered. Most people think it is easier to shoot the bull barrel version! ?The bull barrels are supposed to be more accurate. I have never seen any 14" barrel that was NOT a bull.

Weight would be the main factor for me. If it's a real heavy hitter I want the extra weight.  KN

i would want the standard tapered barrel for hunting, especially if you are packing far. the full bull barrel would be useful for targets from the bench, varmint hunting from a stationary position, or like KN said, extra weight to control a big kicker. :D

I believe jhalcott and I are rowing the same boat. I put "bull barrel" and "standard barrel" into the same basket. A factory, standard barrel is a bull barrel. Or am I mistaken here? T/C used to offer an octagon barrel, but I believe that is a dead breed. And I'm not sure I've ever seen a tapered factory barrel in handgun trim (you did say 15").

The question I see here is custom shop or factory barrel? OTT makes a larger bull barrel then a factory T/C. Tapered anyone? in pistol trim? can't help with that one off the top of my head.
