:D This is my first post on this forum and I just wanted to let everyone know how much help you have been to me without knowing it. I have been looking on here for the last couple of weeks because I was looking to purchase a TC Encore pistol and was unsure of what I wanted. My first desire was a 30-30 barrell and then I considered the 7M08. Well I finally did it and ordered the thing. I ordered a Stainless set up with the black grip and forearm. I ordered a 15" 30-30 barrell. I know that several of you and others have said the 7M-08 would do better, but as I said my first desire was a 30-30 and I figured I would not be happy if I did not get one. The barrell is being made by their custom shop and it will be Nov. before I get it. I hope I can wait that long, if not I will probably go buy me another caliber from their stock list so I can start shooting.
Well that's enough and again thanks for all of the help you have given me without even knowing it. This is a great site.

Welcome to the group NT.    We've got a pretty good bunch here and one heck of a lot of years experience in TC's when you combine them.   No question is too small for this forum, so please feel right at home asking.

the 30-30 will be fine! a 7-08 is super, but so is a 30-30. you may want to look at the 30-30 Ackley Improved. dies can be had from lee for about $24 at midway. cases are fireformed easily, plus you'll get a little extra performance after they are formed. i don't think you could go wrong with any of the choices, just work to satisfy yourself.  :D
