Red Hawk grips

I just purchased a Red Hawk 44 mag 5.5 in stainless and it has a pair of Pachmayer grips on it. I want to know what would be a better set of grips for this revolver. What are you Ruger owners using on yours?  The old wooden S&W target grips have always felt right to me.

My Redhawk and Super R.H. , both wear Hogue Monogrips .  The ones with the blue insert ??, not sure what theyre called.  Hogue makes two Monogrips , they look alike ..one has this blue insert , its a lot softer.  I really like it.  My 454 SRH came with the harder style...changed to the softer one , real big difference.  They're not that expensive , try one , you may like it.  Good luck ..Regards

I think the blue insert you guys are referring to is on the Hogue "Tamer" grips.  Those grips are available for the SUPER Redhawk & gp100, not the regular Redhawk.

I was on the Hogue site and couldn't find tamer grips for the Red hawk. I did find monogrips. Anybody have experience with them?

After I thought agout it......your right Teddy , my 4" Redhawk came with a Hogue grip...not sure which model.  I like it though.  Its narrow but deep , really fills your hand..sorry for the bogus info schoolmaster.  My Super R,H,  does wear the tamer....it really does the job.   Regards

The 4" redhawk comes from the factory with the hogue "Bantam" grips.  I only know about all this because I've been looking for a 5 1/2 redhawk to buy for forever now.  I've owned a gp100 & super redhawk that used the hogue "tamer" grips and they were great!

I've got the mono-grips on my 5.5" SS 45 Colt.  I have used the mono's on alot of different guns, SA and DA and like them on both.  I find it is a more consistaint grip which helps me hit what I'm aiming at easier.  Seem to have some problems with my grip after awhile on smaller, smoother grips.   DP
